Home » Windows 10 End of Life
It is with profound sadness that we announce the official end of life for Windows 10. Born July 29, 2015, the child of Windows 8 and 8.1, quietly passed on October 14, 2025. Windows 10 passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, after a long and scheduled battle with planned obsolescence, as detailed in Microsoft’s official end-of-support guide.
In fact, throughout its 10 years, Windows 10 became known for its unique personality. We will fondly remembered it for:
Windows 10 is survived by its overachieving child, Windows 11; its distant cousins, macOS and Linux; and the countless unsupported PCs that will be left to fend for themselves. It is also survived by its ever-present companions, Microsoft Office and the Black Screen of Death (BSOD) – formerly known as the Blue Screen of Death.
Ultimately, Windows 10 is gone, but we will not forget it. It served us well!
The family has scheduled no formal services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please back up your data and check your PC’s TPM 2.0 compatibility. Your thoughts and prayers during the upgrade process are appreciated. For those who find the transition difficult, professional counseling and assistance with software upgrades is available to help manage the grief.
