Our Commitment
Wright Consulting, LLC wants everyone to be able to use mrwright.com, including people who use screen readers, keyboards instead of a mouse, screen magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology. We’ve spent over 30 years making technology easier for people; a website that shuts anyone out would be a strange way to advertise that.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA (opens in new tab), the widely used international standard for accessible websites.
What We’ve Done
- Keyboard access: every link, menu, button, and form field works with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible outline showing where you are. A “Skip to main content” link appears when you first press Tab.
- Screen readers: pages use proper headings, landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer), and labels. The menu announces which page you’re on, icon-only buttons have text labels, and links that open a new tab say so.
- Images: informative images and screenshots have text descriptions; purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Color and contrast: text meets or exceeds the WCAG AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1 (3:1 for large text), and color is never the only way information is shown.
- Motion: the home page background video has a pause button and doesn’t play at all on phones or for visitors whose device is set to reduce motion. Other animations are brief, and smooth scrolling is turned off when reduced motion is requested.
- Zoom and small screens: pages work at 200% zoom and on screens as narrow as a phone without sideways scrolling.
- Forms: every field has a visible label, required fields are marked and explained, and errors are announced. If the contact form gives you any trouble, you can always call us instead.
- Videos: our videos are hosted on YouTube, which provides captions. A video player loads only when you choose to play it.
Known Limitations
Some parts of the experience come from other companies and are outside our direct control:
- Cloudflare Turnstile protects the contact form from spam. It usually works invisibly, but it may occasionally ask you to check a box. If it blocks you, please call us at +1 623-930-1533.
- YouTube provides our video player and captions. Automatically generated captions may contain errors.
- Other websites we link to, such as Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Google Play, the App Store, our Mailchimp sign-up page, TeamViewer remote support, and the MakerPrice web app, follow their own accessibility practices.
How We Check
- Automated accessibility testing (Google Lighthouse, which uses the axe-core engine) on every page.
- Keyboard-only navigation of every page and interactive feature.
- Manual review of color contrast, headings, labels, image descriptions, and motion.
- Testing on phone, tablet, and desktop screen sizes, and at 200% zoom.
We re-check whenever we add pages or features.
